A Win for the World

By January 5, 2022No Comments

My lifetime resolution is to go out with my ledger as close to zero as possible.

At the time of this writing (January 5th, 2022) I have no debt. Nor do I have much to show for my life when it comes anything related to materialism. I own a couple of bikes, a few pieces of used antique Japanese furniture, a few books, an iPad, computer, some works of art from my favorite artist. I have a dresser full of clothing, some cycling gear, shoes (12 pair) a washer, no dryer, (I’ve been line drying my clothes for more than 15 years). I haven’t owned a car coming up on 20 years. I’m pretty darn healthy thanks to a lifestyle of good food, exercise and an active social life.

I have no aspirations. I don’t want to be rich or famous. I need no accolades to bolster my identity. I may even publish my book, (shameless plug – 10KLRS released in the wild this year) under a pseudonym just to prove my point.

You can like, hate, ignore or engage with me. I don’t care.

When on my deathbed or however I go out, I want no extra lifesaving measures to prolong my life for a few months. I don’t want to burden family or society. When it’s time it’s time.

With a ledger as close to zero it’ll be a win for the world.
